The Makita DTW701Z is a cordless impact wrench within the 18V LXT platform, engineered for high torque fastening applications. It delivers a maximum fastening torque of 700 Nm and features a 1/2″ square drive with detent pin for secure socket retention. The brushless motor architecture improves efficiency, reduces heat generation and eliminates maintenance associated with carbon brushes. It operates with four selectable speed and torque modes, allowing precise control depending on bolt size and material resistance.
The tool provides variable speed ranges from 0 to 2200 rpm and impact rates up to 2700 ipm, supporting applications from controlled fastening to heavy-duty tightening. It includes three reaction time modes with automatic stop in both forward and reverse, reducing the risk of over-tightening or fastener drop-off. The tightening capacity covers standard bolts from M10 to M24, positioning it for automotive, steel erection and maintenance work. Integrated twin LED lights improve visibility, while the XPT (eXtreme Protection Technology) enhances resistance against dust and moisture in demanding environments.
