The Makita DST221RMJ is a complete professional fastening kit built around the 18V LXT cordless stapler. Supplied with two 4.0Ah lithium-ion batteries, a DC18RC rapid charger and a Makpac Type 2 stackable carry case, it is ready for immediate use on site while offering longer runtime than the 3.0Ah kit. Designed to drive 10 mm crown staples from 10 mm to 22 mm in length with a 0.6 × 1.2 mm wire section, the stapler delivers fast, consistent fastening for roofing membranes, insulation materials, vapour barriers, construction plastics and interior finishing applications. Its 98-staple magazine reduces downtime, while the integrated depth adjustment provides accurate staple penetration across varying material densities.
The compact and well-balanced design improves manoeuvrability during repetitive fastening tasks, particularly when working overhead or in confined spaces. A rubberised Soft Grip handle enhances operator comfort, while Makita’s electronic battery protection system automatically shuts the tool down when battery voltage becomes too low, helping maximise battery service life. Delivering approximately 3,000 staples per charge under standard operating conditions, the DST221RMJ combines cordless convenience with extended runtime for demanding professional applications.
