Makita LXT Cordless Grass Line Trimmer Strimmer Body Only, Batteries and Charger are NOT included.
The DUR181 string trimmer has been developed as a lightweight 260mm (10-1/4″) Cordless grass trimmer, powered by a single Makita 18v lithium-ion battery. Featuring a well balanced tool design with angle adjustable cutting head for home gardening.
DUR181Z FEATURES
Well balanced tool design – The battery position is located under the main handle, exactly at the place that plays a role of pivot point when the tool is swung like a pendulum for grass cutting. The battery is therefore not swung around to minimize user’s fatigue
Easy to change spool assembly – Nylon cord can be fed from the spool by bumping the bump feed button against the ground
5 position adjustable pivoting head enables user to adjust cutting angle, allowing for trimming in tight spaces
Battery capacity warning lamp alerts the user when the battery is running low or empty
Adjustable loop-handle can be adjusted according to user’s height and working posture
Spool assembly is easy to attach and remove, also easy to rewind. It comes equipped with a metal bump feed button for wear resistance

Don’t let the price fool you, this is a really good bit of kit.
I think the difference between this and other versions of makita’s grass trimmers is the ability to tackle long grass.
This is more for domestic gardens – having said that, it dealt with long grass in the garden fine.
Bump feed is great and it seems to last forever with a 5aH battery.
DVS also delivered this super quick so all in all I’d recommend this product from this company!!!

I have always had two stroke petrol strimmers, but each summer and spring, they need a good service and are a complete pain to start after being laid up for a few months. I thought it was time to go electric as my son bought me a Makita drill and double battery pack for Christmas so as I needed a light but powerful strimmer for tidying up edges and around trees etc. I decided to get a Makita, I am so pleased with this Makita strimmer is perfect, it is light and very easy to use no fuel to spill, it’s clean and simple. It comes with a harness, if you want which you can easily adjust to your height and it sits perfectly for strimming. The battery is easy to fit and retains enough power to do my who front and rear gardens, a good 1/5 th of an acre. So I would highly recommend it.
