The Makita DCO181ZJ is a professional cordless drywall cutter powered by the Makita 18V LXT battery platform and driven by a high-efficiency brushless motor producing a no-load speed of 32,000 rpm. Designed for fast and precise cutting of plasterboard, it is well suited to creating openings for electrical back boxes, lighting fixtures, ventilation outlets and service penetrations. Its lightweight construction provides excellent control during overhead and repetitive cutting tasks.
The integrated Auto-start Wireless System (AWS) enables Bluetooth communication with compatible Makita dust extractors, automatically activating extraction whenever the cutter operates to improve dust control on site. Additional professional features include Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) for improved resistance against dust and moisture, an electric brake, LED job light, lock-on slide switch and Makita’s battery protection circuitry. The DCO181ZJ version is supplied in a Makpac Type 2 carry case for secure transport and compatibility with the Makpac storage system.
